In a blender, add 1 cup of oats and 3 cups of water. If you prefer thinner oat milk, you can add another cup of water, but I like it on the thicker side. Also, there is no need to soak the oats beforehand as that can make them slimy.

Blend the oats and water together for 30 seconds. Avoid overblending, as it can make the oat milk slimy.

Place the oat mixture in a cheesecloth or clean kitchen towel. Place a bowl under the cheese cloth.

You can either let gravity do the work or press the mixture through the kitchen towel to expedite the process. If you are letting gravity do the work, place the cheesecloth in a strainer and wait until all the liquid is separated.

Transfer the oat milk to a clean bottle for storage.

The oat milk is good for about 5 days or until it develops an off smell.
